My skincare routine has given me spots that now wont go away

I started using la roche posay skinacre months ago to help control my oily skin. I didn't have any spots at this point and my skin was ok apart from being oily. After using the products for a few months I developed a lot of spots and redness which was not going away. These spots are still not going away after stopping using the skincare for over a month now. New spots are also still appearing. Answer: The products you were using may not have been right for your skincare issues. Redness is a sign of inflammation which could be caused by over use of active ingredients such as salicylic acids, retinols or detergents.
This inflammation leads to water loss, dryness and flaking. The skin\'s response can be to over produce oil / sebum to correct the skin's disrupted pH When oil tries to emerge from the pores but hits a "lid" of tight, dry or flaky skin, the oils can build up, the pores leading to formation of spots
I'd suggest using a simplified routine of a gentle, detergent-free face wash (make sure there is no sodium laureth suphate) or even a natural oil or creamy cleanser - massage gently into the skin for a minute then wash off with a clean face cloth and tepid water, rinse the cloth, repeat.
This will help to gently exfoliate the skin to release the blocked pores. Don't dry your face Apply a bland unfragranced moisturiser - look for creams that contain ceramides, omega essential fats or cholesterol to help repair skin barrier

We are an advanced skin care clinic whereby we have a Dermatology department. Our Doctor Fatima Ahmed who specialises in would see you for a Consultation first, during which she will assess the area you are concerned with. Dr Fatima has an extensive list of qualifications including Bachelor of and Bachelor of surgery, Diploma of practical dermatology, Masters in dermatology skills and treatment and Board in Aesthetic medicine, Dr Fatima is GMC registered and she can treat a number of conditions as well as carry out procedures and treatments here at the clinic.
During your Dermatology Consultation your medical history will be discussed along with your current concerns, a diagnosis will be carried out and your treatment options will be explained thoroughly and an individual treatment plan will be created for you.
The cost of the consultation is as follows:
Initial consultation, over 18: £175 (£50 deposit payable upon booking)
Initial consultation, under 18: £120 (£50 deposit payable upon booking)
Dr Fatima’s working hours are:
Monday, Tuesday, 9am – 4:30pm
